Nursery for #2

Today we put a deposit down on nursery furniture for #2 and we're headed out to the burbs to make that purchase Monday! We found a fantastic deal on a beautiful dark wood crib and dresser (which will also serve as the changing table) at a little boutique where we got Clark's crib and rocker- and thanks to Rich's folks and Grandma it's even more affordable. Thanks guys!!!! The great thing is now both boys will have solid cribs that will grow with them since they both convert to full size beds.

So above is our nursery ideas for #2, modern and earthy. I think we're going to paint the walls a nice latte color (similar to the color behind the branch shelf) with a big orange stripe near the ceiling. The furniture will be chocolate brown wood and my amazing cousin is going to make us crib sheets and an accent pillow out of that cool brown/orange bird fabric since all the crib sheets I've found in that fabric online go for over $40 a pop. No thanks :) And on etsy.com I found this really neat tree wall decal (a little different than the one shown) that we can order in chocolate brown and it will be huge behind the dresser/changing table. Now I just need to find a couple orange changing pad covers hopefully in a minki dot...

Slumber Party

Tonight Clark had his big cousin Miles over for a slumber party (all festivities ending early and both boys in bed by 8:20 :) But they sure had a blast together. Clark loved running after Miles and the boys helped us make english muffin pizzas for dinner. Miles even took a bath with Clark and he LOVED having company in the tub. Here's hoping they don't both wake up before 6:30!

Clark likes lining up his tub toys and staring at them. As you can see his face hasn't been cleaned yet!

Saucy Face

Clark had a little too much fun with lunch today-

Dave has his own toy!

Seriously Dave, if you shaved your facial hair into a mustache...

Snow-

It snowed a little bit this morning, enough to coat the ground so we thought Clark would enjoy going out in it for a little bit... and he did, for the first three minutes. Then his hands touched the snow and he freaked out. But the little guy won't wear gloves! Anyway- this time in the snow was MUCH different than his first time. He was very interested in the way the snow crunched beneath his feet while he walked.

And, here's a cute snowy picture from last year. This was his first time in the snow ever, and he got quite a kick out of it- how quickly time has gone by!

Maternity T

hahaha- I found this on etsy.com when I was searching for fun wall decals for Clark's big boy room. Too funny!

IT'S A...

BOY!!! We are going to have two little boys and couldn't be more thrilled. We think Clark is going to be an amazing big brother to our new little guy :)

Anyway, I now have to see a MFM doctor to monitor me for the rest of this pregnancy so we lucked out and got an early ultrasound. Yay for not having to wait until Feb 6th- but more importantly everything looked PERFECT. A healthy baby boy is on his way and we are so blessed. So congrats to everyone that voted boy- you were right!

The one thing the doctor did note was that our little boy #2 has "quite a large head," but then she looked at Rich and said it didn't surprise her- so we assume it's not a bad thing. He's got a DiTore boy head on his shoulders and will be just fine. I, on the other hand, might be in some pain come June :)

18 weeks...

So far this pregnancy has flown by- but I guess that happens when you're running after a toddler. Anyway- these past two days have been fun "adult" days for Rich and I. After a LONG week of Clark being sick (and getting up several times a night to temp, give meds, snuggle sick boy) Gramme Pamme took him for Friday night through Saturday afternoon. Rich and I got to see TWO movies which is quite the feat these days. Slumdog Millionaire was as good as we hoped (and as good as the hype) and Gran Torino was so fun! But I must say, having a full night of un-interrupted sleep (except for pee breaks :) was the best!!! Clark loved his time with Gramme too-

Sick baby update-

Clark's fever got up to 105 today... more than once. Talk about scary! He got a chest xray at Children's Hospital and it was perfect. Everybody is thinking it's viral and if that's the case this should all be over with soon! So far Motrin and tepid baths have been able to bring down the spikes but it still is too scary. Here's a shot of him in one of his baths today taken on my phone. Poor little guy, you can just see in his eyes how horrible he feels.
On a different note, tonight after his bath I was letting him sleep on my chest while we were rocking in his chair (waiting for his fever to drop down at least under 104 before I'd put him in bed) and I felt a couple early movements of number two. It was moving around kicking Clark already and it made me smile huge, despite being exhausted with a sick baby all day- it was just what I needed.

Happy Inaguration Day!!!

And, in honor of inaguration day we thought we would post this hilarious picture of Clark as president. The Magic House, one of our favorite children's places here in STL just got finished with a major addition. One of the things added was a government section where there is a mini oval office and the kids can play president... We thought it was super cute. Vote Clark for President 2059!!! And until then- welcome to the white house President Barack Obama!

What do you think we're having?

On Feb 6th we find out if we're having a boy or a girl. But until then, we added a poll to the left where you can guess- we're curious to see what everybody thinks!

Poor Sick Baby

Baby Clark has NOT been feeling well!!! Yesterday evening we took his temp because he seemed warm and it was 103. We got it down to 101 before bed, but it was right back up to 104.2 in the morning (even with middle of the night meds) so to the doc we went. They couldn't find anything wrong with him, even though I was thinking he might have an ear infection. The only other time he's gotten a decent fever before was for a double ear infection. But the poor little guy was still so off tonight. All he wanted to do was cuddle which of course we didn't mind at all but we did miss all his smiles. His face has been bright red the whole day though and when we put his jammies on he looked like he had sunburn all over. It was 104 again tonight, but down to 102.5 by the time he went to sleep. Rich ran out and invested in the good ear thermometer tonight so we can temp while he's sleeping and not bother him too much, and I already have my alarm set for 1am to give him more meds. Hopefully in the morning he'll be back to his normal self because if not his doc wants us to take him in for a chest xray... I really hope we don't have to do that! I'm thankful that we have 2 of the top 10 children's hospitals in the country within a 2 mile radius of our house. But it's crazy to me that they don't start worrying about fevers until 105. I start worrying way before that-

A FatBaby Update... Finally!

I've finally taken the time to update my FatBaby site from the past couple months... Hopefully from here on out, I'll be able to stay on top of it more!!!! Here's one of my favorite pics I added-

Clark ordered some porn...

Ok, not official porn, but something along those lines. The other day he was playing around with Rich's XBox remote and apparently got into the section where you can rent movies. He loves pressing buttons and we're guessing he just pressed the wrong ones. So the next morning Rich couldn't figure out where some of his XBox points went- turns out clark rented "100 Girls" nice job little guy. Of course we tried to check it out and it was HORRIBLE :)

And the cute picture above was snapped on Rich's phone as we were leaving to head to the Magic House to check out the new expansion. I thought it was super cute- we LOVE that hat on him!

Diaper Fun

When I found out I was pregnant we seriously considered going with cloth diapers. But disposables were so easy at first and I never really looked into it too much more, although I really hated the insane amout of trash we were producing with all the diapers... but when Clark was around 6 months old we decided to give it a shot and the obsession began. I didn't realize how easy the new kind of cloth diapers were to use, and it's so nice not having to spend so much $ per month on disposables. I knew I wanted to do it for eco reasons but I had no idea how much I would actually LIKE doing it. So one of the eco boards I go to (yes, I know I'm a total nerd) had a "post a picture of your stash" so this is the one I snapped. A few were already dirty so it's not complete, AND the few ones we've bought for when #2 is a newborn aren't shown. But what is great is the fact that most of these are one size adjustable diapers so when 2 gets here we don't need to buy a ton more diapers. Although, I have a feeling if it's a girl I'm going to want some super cute girlie ones. They even make diapers with ruffles on the tush. I know I'll be in trouble :)

This morning after changing Clark he wanted nothing to do with putting clothes back on, so he had a little run-around-the-house-in-his-diaper time. Lovely. And of course I couldn't help snapping pictures of him!

Clark is playing on one of the fun toys that his Grandma and Grandpa got him for Christmas

And this fun toy was from Grandpa Maheu and Patti. Clark obviously loves it.

Missing Daddy-

Clark is really missing his Daddy this week. Yesterday afternoon Rich had to go to Minneapolis for work meetings through Wednesday night- no fun! I just checked the weather and the low tonight is -15 (not the wind chill, the actual temp, and the high tomorrow is 1 degree!) Yuck. I'll stay here in warm, sunny 23 degree St. Louis... ha. Kinda wishing we were back in FL right about now! Anyway- Clark had a total meltdown this morning for no reason. 30 minutes of screaming and crying, nothing was helping (I personally think he was just missing his Daddy.) But after he was all snuggles so I snapped a picture with my phone and emailed it to Rich so he could see a picture of his boy... Can't wait until you come home babe- we miss you!

Auntie Beck comes in town-

Last weekend Auntie Beck visited St. Louis (from Chicago) and we had so much fun. It was great getting some good quality girlie time in and of course Clark loved having her there. As you can see he got quite the cool Christmas gift that he's reading in that last picture. LOVE it! Thanks for making the trip down here (again!) we love you!

Holy Guacamole!

This week #2 is the size of an avocado. Fun times. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has been flying by, but I suppose that happens when you're running after a toddler. And thankfully it's been almost 2 weeks since I've thrown up which has been nice. I still get REALLY nauseous but I know I won't puke so it's very manageable. Anyway- we set the date for our "big" ultrasound where we get to hopefully hear that all is happy and healthy with our little one, and if he/she isn't too shy we should find out what we're having. And, YES we're going to find out. Stay tuned :)

Fireman Joe!

We are SOOOO excited for Joe who found out yesterday that he's officially got a job with the Maitland Fire Department. He has worked so very hard to get this position and we couldn't be more proud of him. YAY Joe!!! Clark is already pretty pumped for his next visit so he can play on the firetruck-

Oh, and we didn't have any pictures of him in his uniform of course so I stole this from Joe and Traci's site :)

Big Belly!

So they say your belly gets bigger the second time around- and I suppose that's true. The first picture was from when I was 14.5 weeks along with Clark and the second picture is 14.5 weeks with baby number 2. Wow. Here's a nice conversation I had with a girl at Macy's...

Mean sales lady- So what are you having?
Me- We don't know yet.
Her- Oh that's cool you're not finding out.
Me- No we just don't know yet.
Her- How far along ARE you?
Me- 14 weeks
Her- WOW, I didn't get that big until I was 8 months pregnant!
Me- Thanks. That makes me feel REAL good!

Beck's Bites

Rebecca started a vegetarian food blog Beck's Bites with the recipes of all the YUMMY veggie dishes she cooks up in her kitchen. She's adding as she goes so there's only 3 entries so far, but she will add more as she keeps cooking- I'll add the link to the list since I know you'll want to keep coming back for more...
