Picnic in the park

So, I've been pretty bad about updating the site lately because I've been in major nesting mode. But that's a good thing, because DiTore #2 is due in 30ish days! Crazy...

Anyway, we've had wonderful weather lately and last weekend we took Clark to the park for a little picnic, duck feeding (his favorite) and a romp on the playground. Here are the pix-

nursery progress!

Well, we've finally gotten the nursery underway for little DiTore #2. A friend painted the room for us, and I spent a TON of time painting the stripes, but I think they turned out pretty cute. The curtain was a donation from Malcolm (thanks!) and this wall decal took a looooong time (it came in 110 pieces afterall) to do but I'm thrilled with the way it turned out! And the pictures aren't great, I took them on my phone. WAY too tired to get the camera out and snap away.

And... the finished product! Worth the effort.

The wall stripes and curtain- stripes SUCK to paint on textured walls, let me tell ya. Pretty sure it's the last time I'll ever attempt them!

We're going to use Clark's bedding in #2s room and just add some fresh yellow sheets. Since Clark will get a "big boy" room soon we don't think he's going to miss it. Plus, we haven't used a bumper in over a year so it'll be nice to use that again!

And here's his mobile. It's in the room already, but we need to put the crib together before we can hang it.

And my amazingly talented cousin is making some fantastic pillows and a blanket out of this cute bird fabric- Can't wait!!!

Bubbles

Yesterday afternoon it was so beautiful out we couldn't resist spending some time outside with our little guy. So we packed up some popsicles & bubbles and walked down the street to a big open grassy space to play. Clark loved his popsicle of course, but he loved the bubbles even more! It was fun seeing him run around and flip out- he can even say "bubbles" which is pretty cute stuff :)

33+ Week Update

I have quite the shadow these days! Today I had another weekly appointment for a growth ultrasound, monitoring and a regular check-up. Baby is measuring right on track, but flipped back to breach so we've got to hope in the next couple weeks he'll flip down on his own. Right now his head is in the left side of my ribcage and his feet are in the right (super comfortable!) and his adorable little tush is what's causing all the downward pressure I'm feeling. He is already taking up 5+ pounds of the 12 I've gained, and it seems his growth has thankfully slowed down a little bit, which is great for a GD mama. I can't believe I'm due NEXT month! The nursery painting is finally finished, and the cool wall decal I ordered on etsy arrived today, although I think it's going to take a long time to put up. I'll post pictures as soon as my work is finished :)

Choo choo! Choo choo!

After breakfast we took Clark to the Museum of Transportation to see his current obsession, "choo choo" trains. And he LOVED every second of it. Everywhere he looked there would be another choo choo and his face would light up. He got to touch them, walk around on them and even ride on them- and he was in sheer heaven. So were we, it was the perfect Mother's Day!

Clark did NOT want to say "bye" to the trains!

Mother's Day Brunch-

Sunday morning I got to sleep in, which was gift enough. But then I was able to meet Lindy & Heather for one last meal before everybody had to leave town. AND, I got to hang with my little guy which I barely got to see the whole weekend- so that was just perfect.

Nicolle's Wedding Weekend

Here are some pictures from Nicolle's wedding weekend. I didn't take all that many being that I was having too much fun to actually focus on snapping pictures :) Plus, there really wasn't a ton of time and lugging around my camera seems to be a slight hassle these days.

Her wedding weekend was WONDERFUL though, and she made one of the most beautiful brides I have ever seen. It's funny, I've known Nicolle since 5th grade - in fact, she's the first person who talked to me when I switched schools that year. And as long as I've known her, I've never seen her as happy, or glow quite as much as she did this past weekend. I can't actually imagine Nicolle without Brian anymore, and that's saying a lot since I've known her 20 years. Guess that's a sign of a good thing! Congrats you two and I hope you're enjoying your "surprise" honeymoon! Brian surprised Nicolle with the destination, all she knew was that it's a tropical place and she needed a passport. Too romantic :0)

By Wednesday a lot of the out of town ladies had arrived and we had a "spa" night at her mom's house (Gramme Pamme) It's really tough to smile when your face is crusted with a mask!!!

Friday morning we all went for mani's and pedi's and then to Roxanne's for a delicious lunch. Here are my three favorite girls from high school! We were so lucky Heather was able to travel in from Nashville (she's due 10 days before me!) and Lindy was able to make it in from Denver. Each year we plan to get together at least once-

In true southern style there was a really delicious cake with fortune treats in it for each bridesmaid.

Then there was the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner which I managed to not photograph. Ha. We all spent the night together and on the wedding morning had breakfast together-

Before getting myself ready I ran over to the reception venue and snapped a couple pictures- Jaime, her very talented sister-in-law (who owns her own interior design business) made some really amazing centerpieces.

There were some zipper issues while getting ready, but everything worked out in the end.

How many bridesmaids does it take to help the bride pee?

After the wedding the party bus was full of party. Hehe.

Two bellies- we're due 10 days apart, and our little boys are only 6 weeks apart. And I swear we didn't plan it, although nobody around us is surprised.

The photobooth was one of my favorite touches! Too much fun!
