Banana Eater

Dex is REAL jealous of Clark's food these days. If we're trying to feed him something pureed all he wants is the solid stuff Clark is eating. He'll throw a full-on fit if he can't eat like a big boy. But he still only has 2 teeth (although he has a top one coming in any day now.) So we've been trying to find big boy foods he can gum well enough. Now Dex eats a lot of bananas-
OH wait- that bite was TOO big
More banana please guys!

And on a really sweet note, Dex said Momma yesterday for the first time! I'm sure it was a total accident but it still melted my heart!!! Way to go Dex!

Phinn

Because I've been SO bad about updating FatBaby lately (and I will do it soon, I swear!) I had to post a picture of sweet little Phinn! He is our friends' (Laura & Neil) new little addition and she was kind enough to let me practice on him. It was so fun spending time with this sweet little dude. Congrats guys!!!

all fours

Dex has been getting up on all fours for quite a while now... at least two months. But it's all a tease. He rocks back and forth, he scoots, he rolls and he can get across a room- but there is no crawling yet. He can even get into downward facing dog, which is hilarious to me. Little yoga dude.
Here are a couple pix of Dex on all fours. Thinking about crawling...

Dex loves his Daddy so much- can you blame him?

Precious Soul

I remember my mom saying "precious soul" a lot when I was younger, and I know that's how she saw us, and all innocent children for that matter. And now that I am a mom myself I find myself thinking that when I'm cuddling my boys. They truly are pure precious little souls.
Dex wasn't feeling too great the past couple nights and seemed to get cranky right around the time Rich and I were heading to bed. And no matter how badly I wanted to climb into our comfy bed and pass right out I had to go in and comfort him. And he's really snuggly in the middle of the night when he's cranky. So I would just rock him and give him cuddles, and cherish the time because if he really is our last I'm really going to miss this stage so much. I wish I could freeze time and keep my adorable little 8 month old just a little while longer.

Whatever Dex does Clark wants to too.

Clark seems to want to do whatever Dex is doing. Which sometimes can mean playing in the exersaucer. So we indulged him the other night and even Dex got a kick out of it. Whatever keeps the boys happy.

Malcolm's Birthday Party

Tonight was Malcolm's second birthday party. I can't believe it's been two years since he was born, where is the time going??? Marc & Lisa had an adorable Gabba themed party since Malcolm is super down, and all the kids had a blast. Clark was obsessed with Malcolm's mini trampoline he got and we had a hard time pulling him off of it.
I had to put up a couple pictures of Lisa's decorations she made. Too cute.

Dex hanging out with the kids like a big boy
Malcolm opening his awesome presents
Our Muno wraping I made
Dex in his homemade Toodee shirt
Look how big Miles has gotten, he looks like such a big boy now!
Clark is in his homemade Muno shirt that I wanted him to be able to wear to Gabba Live but he had a little too much fun trying to pick Muno's eye off. Maybe I'll try again. Either way, he really loved the cupcake, as you can see. He inhaled it in record time!

Sharing Fishies

I had to snap a few pictures of the boys in their matching shirts. And to get Clark to sit still he insisted on having his goldfish snack in his lap. Which normally would be fine except for the fact that Dex is super grabby these days and thinks anything he can get his hands on is his, and can go in his mouth.
At first I was pleasantly surprised at how great Clark was being with Dex getting into his fishies... then this happened.
But Clark realized he could feed Dex the fish, and he loved that.
And gave his brother hugs after which Dex wasn't too sure about. Sometimes Clark gets a little rough with his hugs.

Valentines Day treats

Happy Valentines Day everyone, hope the day was well! Ours was uneventful being that Clark wasn't feeling great and had a pretty good fever. But I made homemade chicken soup for dinner, and the boys got lots of snuggles, SO even with a sick toddler it ended up being a pretty great day. Here are a couple pictures from the other day when Clark got to open some Valentines.

It's always fun checking the mail and getting something other than bills for a change. Friday, the boys got some fun Valentines for from Lola & Bella-

Clark was very excited about the "green frogs!" that baby Bella sent

Dex thought the valentine Lola made was delicious-

Sometimes I will see a picture of Clark and wonder where my baby went. He seems so big to me now...

Our little Pixar snob

A Valentines Day package arrived in the mail the other day for Clark & Dex... Grandma and Grandpa sent SUPER special "friends" in the form of Nemo stuffed animals for Clark and Dex. Now, Dexter is excited about anything he can stuff in his mouth. Clark, on the other hand, is a little tougher to please. But these days, anything Pixar does the trick. And Clark really loves Nemo. And Toy Story (1&2) and UP! and Cars. Yikes. But he really isn't as couch potato as that sounds, he's an active little dude and we relish the times he chills out for a bit. I'm just lucky I married a big kid who already wanted to own all the movies for himself.

When I was a little girl my brother would get me Disney movies for Christmas and I always cherished them. After I first met Rich I ran into him on the Avenue on my lunch break. He was on his way back from pre-ordering a movie from the Disney Store that they were releasing from the vault, which was seriously adorable. We talked about sharing them with our kids one day and it's just as fun as I imagined it would be. I love seeing Clark get as excited as he does. And how else would "anemone" become part of his vocab? :)

Clark kept saying "two memo's!" he was SO excited- and we have to keep reminding him, one Nemo is for Dex and one is for him. I think he liked the fact that his was the only one that talks.

Dex thinks DVDs are for chewing and not viewing. He loves his Nemo though. We hide Nemo between his bumper and top of his crib and when he wakes up he goes right for him. He'll just roll around in his crib cuddling him, it's so cute.

Dug & Nemo getting Clark cuddles in bed- night night

Playtime with Eli & Anna

This morning we went over to Todd & Leah's (high school friends of mine) house to meet their sweet little girl Anna- It was so nice getting out of the house for a little adult interaction and the boys had some fun too :)

Eli drawing on his super awesome chalkboard wall-

Sadly, this is the ONLY picture of sweet little Anna. I can't believe I didn't get more, but she and Dex did sleep through most of their first date...

Three dudes

There were a few play-date tears shed... after all, sharing toys can be tough. And I love the look on Dex's face here-

Boys will be boys

Dex was chewing on Thomas and Eli wasn't down with that :)

Heartbreaker. Seriously, how can you say "no" to this face, and these big brown eyes?

And this is the reaction I get when I pop up from behind our kitchen island and yell "peek-a-boo!" or as clark says "Eh-Ah-Boooo" I love these boys.

Blunder-

Silly me. So the other day I decided it would be fun for Clark and I to make some Valentines Day chocolates. So I got my heart shaped silicone baking dish, milk & white chocolate chips and food coloring. We had fun filling the hearts with chocolate chips (and eating a few) and added a couple drops of food coloring to make the white chocolate hearts pink. Well a couple minutes after putting them in the oven I started to smell something funky in the kitchen. Turns out my silicone baking dish was actually an ICE tray and not oven friendly at all! And... it was melting onto my oven rack. Oops. So it went in the trash, and we have no yummy chocolate hearts to show for it. Thankfully I didn't ruin our oven! Here's a picture of Clark all proud of his treats (and showing off his best fake smile) before they got ruined in the oven. Good thing he totally forgot about them :)

Magic House

The Magic House is always a good way to kill a cold afternoon. Please, let the weather warm up soon. Can't wait to be able to hit the park and go for long walks outside!

Here are my boys "fishing" for magnetic fish of course.

Dex checking out his imprint...

Dex was enthralled with the "bubble organ" Clark was playing for him

Making music

One of Clark's fave tasks at the Magic House is collecting the fuzzy balls to put through the air tubes-

As Clark would put the balls/scarves through the air tubes Dex was sitting waiting for them to fly out-
