Palm Springs

Well, this trip was an adventure- and I've finally got some pictures uploaded to show. Last week we got back from a family trip in Palm Springs to visit Grandpa Maheu. This was my first time out there since becoming a Mom and "vacation" wasn't quite the right word :) Somehow my relaxing Palm Springs was full of waking up super early, running after babies and never having down time to lay in the sun. On the other hand it was really fun seeing Clark experience the desert for the first time and enjoy every moment in the pool- Perry said "goodbye to two" and turned three while we were out there and we celebrated by taking her to see her first movie at a theater (WALL-E) and going to Chuck E Cheese. Clark had a blast with his cousins! Splashing in the pool is his new favorite thing to do- and spending 24-7 with the "big kids" was perfect for him. And now that we're home I swear he looks for them when he wakes up in the morning!

On a different note it was sad going to Palm Springs for the first time and not having my Mom out there. It was her favorite place in the world and every time I've been out there we've packed the trip with fun memories. And I'm lucky to have all those special moments with her tucked away, but it was really tough being so close to everything so "her" without her actually being there with us. I always heard people who lost loved ones say "not a day goes by" and it's really true. Not a day goes by where I don't miss her and wish she was here...

Here's Clark tearing up the AA safety instructions. And as bad as that is, if you knew the hell AA put us through traveling you'd applaud his destruction. Anything that kept him from screaming was OK with me at that point!

The amazing view of my Dad's backyard. That lounge chair used to have my name all over it!

Golf carts are the prefered mode of transport out in the desert.

The Maheu clan (and Frankie) swimming in Patti's pool

Grandpa and Clark snuggle time

Clark reading to Miles

Miles couldn't get enough of Patti's pinball machine

Rich HATES this picture- but I think he's so damn cute I had to include it. Perry got a kick out of Clark in one of her bows- and I have to admit with those curls I did too.

Yummy watermellon by the pool

YAY- Daddy arrived!

While Miles & Perry were a BIG fan of the "jetson's" tub the minute the bubbles came on Clark wasn't too thrilled.

The Maheu's before a trip to the desert zoo

Going to see WALL-E

Clark hung with Grandpa & Patti while we saw the movie but was very entertained by the theater-
Marc & Miles at Chucky E. Cheese

A very happy birthday girl

Clark was very down with driving- it's going to be a long 15.5 years!

Dad & Patti

Clark even got to meet Chucky!

Happy Forth of July!!!

Happy 4th everybody! Today we went to Lisa's folk's house for a little pool party, and a celebration of Perry's 3rd birthday. The weather was amazing, low 80s all day and sunny- and the pool was fully of happy kids... Clark had a blast like usual!

Perry's new thing is jumping into the pool-

Clark loved Alex's silly noises...

Malcolm is getting SO big!

Perry is obsessed with everything Mickey!

Daddy's nose is so much fun to play with

Yes Perry, we caught you red-handed :o)

But you're the birthday girl, so it's OK!

9 month stats

Well Baby Clark hit 9 months on June 22nd and we finally got him to the pedi this week for his check-up. He weighed in at a healthy 24+lbs and a tall 28+ inches. We can't believe how fast this little guy is growing- we can barely keep up with his crawling and he pulls up on everything right now and "walks" around the perimeter of things. It's so wonderful watching him grow and learn new things (although this pulling-up thing is making nap time terribly hard!)

Chix in the Stix, 2008

Here are some pictures from the Tower Grove girls annual camping trip (Chix in the Stix.) This was actually a couple weekends ago, but since we left for Cali the day after we got back I haven't had much time to update the site. This was my first year going (couldn't quite bring myself to go fully pregnant last year) although now that i've been to one I would go PG in a heartbeat. Who knew it would be so fun?!? There were 15 of us ladies that ventured out toward Steelville, MO- pitched tents and drank beer for an entire weekend. It was wonderful. And the food was great too- I was super impressed with the fact that we had a stove to cook on, and one of the girls even brought a camping oven. I already can't wait until next year!

The most delicious cookie of all times, eaten "brail-style" in the dark.

Check out the camping stove, Laura was making some killer breakfast sandwiches...

who needs a toaster?

The theme this year was Chix gone green- so basically we recycled the massive amount of beer bottles and cans... although many of the girls brought their own plates and cups too so we didn't use as many paper ones...

Sitting in the river is so delightful-

another shot of the yummy food.

Sperry was such a trooper camping THAT pregnant (isn't she the cutest pregnant girl ever?)

yes, the tent had hardwood floors and crown molding.

So Special!

Last night I was lucky enough to capture the most amazing thing on film. I was shooting little Lilli (for the second time because she wasn't too full of smiles the first time :) and she took her first steps! I just had to share this picture because it's too cute. I love the look on her proud mommy's face- What are the odds she'd take her first steps during a photo shoot???
