Tis the Season...
For Farmers Markets! I found this really cool site online where you can type in your zip code and it'll let you know all the farmers markets, natural stores and even CSAs that are near you. Check out http://www.localharvest.org/ Not only are the fruits and veggies much cheaper and more fresh at the farmers market (seriously who wants to pay $5 for a small thing of blueberries) but imagine all the gas you're saving by buying local over some fruit grown overseas and shipped here, no wonder fruit is so expensive. Plus, some of the countries we buy our fruit from don't have as stringent standards when it comes to pesticide and chemical control-

Adventures with baby food
Well... if there's one thing we all know it's that Clark loves to eat! So behold my latest addiction- Last night I went to town in the kitchen after an extended trip to Whole Foods (farmers market was closed sunday, so sad!) and made Clark some yummy food for the month- and not only was it fun but so much cheaper than the store bought stuff (better for the environment because we're not wasting all those jars and plastic containers AND way yummier) He has been gobbling it up all day! If anybody is interested in trying this at home, http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com is a great resource. There's a permanent link on the left...
On the menu-
banana mango blueberry
cherry peach apple
blueberry pear
cherry banana mango
peas and carrots
avocado banana (which actually is good oddly enough!)

The Butterfly House
Saturday we packed up the family truckster and headed out to the western burbs to Faust Park home of the Butterfly House- Clark had a blast on the big kids playground even though he's a little small for most of the stuff... http://www.butterflyhouse.org/ Then we headed indoors and Clark was amazed by all the butterflies around him, we will certainly be heading back there again! Excuse the Flock of Seagulls hair thing he has going on in these pictures-
