Our Vallarta Adventure

Wednesday morning we dragged our lazy vacation butts out of bed and went on an outdoor adventure... There was an off-roader ride, mule riding up a mountain, huge zip lines, rope bridges that had to be crossed, repelling down a mountain, streams we had to wade across on foot and even a small bit of hiking. It was so.much.fun. Here was our course map-
And this was the giant off-roader we took with 13 other people from our resort. We rode almost an hour into the mountains and it was quite the bumpy ride. The "road" at some points would go right through little creeks and streams and was SO bumpy.

Then we got our zip line gear on and were set up with mules. Rich's one was HUGE, and mine was super competitive. Whenever another mule tried to get in front of him he'd get mad and race him, which would have been more entertaining if we weren't climbing a mountain.

Edgar, one of our awesome guides, also has two little boys who are into TS. It was fun seeing familiar characters.

One of the zip lines we went down was the second largest in the world...
It was so fun, and we were super high in the air-
One of the platforms- this was right before we got to repel down a waterfall.
It was so awesome, and a little cold- at least I thought so. Rich was fine of course, but he's always hot.

These guys made it look SO easy-

The water at the bottom was waist deep- Rich and I both needed new shoes after this adventure!

A different waterfall we got to go down...

This was taken right before Rich got completely dunked-
And we even got to race-

Puerto Vallarta

Last week we got to spend some time in Puerto Vallarta Mexico for an early celebration of our 5 year wedding anniversary. We were so lucky Rich's folks were able to watch our sweet little dudes while we were away, but we still brought our laptop so we could web cam with them while we were gone. We had an AMAZING time sleeping a ton, eating a ton, playing in the ocean and relaxing. But we are thrilled to be back home, although it was a little bit of a shock to our systems crawling into our cold bed last night (it was in the 40s out) after having a wonderful breakfast on the beach that morning.... It was heaven though, we hope to go back soon.
Here we were just after we arrived walking around the resort exploring.
First lunch with a view of the beach and ocean, and first of many Corona.
And that restaurant in the distance was our favorite place to go. The food was incredible and the view was pretty awesome too.
Then the first night we were able to partake in a release of baby sea turtles. I had no idea they were going to be so tiny and black-

And one picture of the food- yummy fish tacos from our first day. This was probably the lease impressive of the presentations, everything always looked as good as it tasted.
Having cocktails at the tiki bar before dinner one night.
Sunset view from our balcony
The lounge "chairs" in our favorite pool
ahhh, this pool might be my new happy place...
Hugo and Maria were our pals at the Seaside Grill we ate at often. They loved eating pretty much anything that was tossed their way, including flowers.
Right after a delicious Italian meal at Portofino
A cute honeymoon couple that we met and had dinner with that night. Dominic & Luciana were married once before 15 years ago but divorced after a year and a half. Neither of them remarried and 15 years later they reconnected on Facebook and ended up getting married again.
Big Baby (from Toy Story 3) came along with us. Apparently he is not down with sunbathing and is giving it the thumbs down.
Donna & Phil, another fun couple we met on our trip.

The first half of the trip each night thunderstorms would roll in as the sun was setting-
Big Baby liked his wine at Portofino
When we were coming home from dinner one night there were fire dancers outside of our lobby doing their show to Daft Punk, it was a really fun surprise.

Dinner one night (above) and eating at Oceana, our favorite breakfast place. You can't see the ocean behind us, but it's there. We got really used to eating with such a great view.
Big Baby decided he wanted to try the boogie boards with us one day-
One of the many beautiful sunsets
Dinner on our last night there

And I had to snap this picture while we were there. We have a VERY similar one from our honeymoon.

We also went on a Puerto Vallarta "Adventure" and I'll post pictures of that soon...
